A guide to parking at Dover Cruise Terminal

Planning to set sail on a cruise from Dover? If you’re travelling to the port by car, arranging secure parking before you arrive is one of the easiest ways to start your holiday stress-free. Whether you’re embarking on your very first cruise or you’re a regular traveller, being clear on the parking options at Dover Cruise Terminal can help make embarkation quick and straightforward.

Secure on-site parking is available at Dover Cruise Terminal, offering a convenient place to leave your vehicle while you’re away. The Port of Dover works with Cruise and Passenger Services (CPS), who provide a professional valet parking service for cruise guests. After arriving at the terminal, you’ll be greeted by a member of the CPS team, who will check your vehicle in before parking it in one of the port’s secure parking facilities. Your car will then be returned to the terminal ready for your arrival home, meaning there’s no need to collect it from a separate car park. Parking should be booked in advance as availability can be limited, particularly during busy sailing periods. 

Dover Cruise Terminal is well connected by road and clearly signposted as you approach the port. If you’re travelling from London or the west, follow the M20 towards Folkestone before continuing along the A20 to Dover. From the north, take the M2 and A2 through Kent, following signs for Dover before joining the local route towards the Western Docks. Those approaching from the east, including Deal, Sandwich and Thanet, should follow the A258 or A256 towards Dover, joining the A2 where appropriate. If you’re travelling along the south coast, use the A259 before joining the A20 towards Dover. As you enter Dover, follow the signs for the Cruise Terminals and Western Docks, rather than those for the ferry port, to ensure you arrive at the correct entrance. The A20 and signs within the port will guide you towards the correct cruise terminal and parking area.
